If you are looking for sound on the go, the Cyber Acoustics iPod Touch speaker can play off batteries, or you can save battery power with its relatively lightweight power adapter. When plugged in, the speaker will also charge your iPod. The speaker is also fairly lightweight, making it an excellent travel companion.

There is not a lot more to say about this compact speaker system – it has fewer features (such as a remote) than some competitors, but that can be expected at its sub $50 price.

Depending on what you are looking for, this may be the perfect speaker for you. The Satechi Round Speaker is not for the high-end audiophile. However, it provides iPod Touch music with a simple interface, and is able to be powered by batteries.

The option to plug into a wall or use battery power makes the Satechi very versatile, useful outdoors or indoors, at home or away. Although not a high-end audio device, the Round Speaker does provide pleasant music and is able to produce enough volume for a smaller room.

There is a remote control included with Satechi’s speaker, and it includes a 3.5 mm stereo jack in addition to the iPod interface. This allows you to plugin any source that can output to a set of headphones.

Satechi is not a particularly well-known name, however, there are relatively few quality complaints online.
